Arsenal will need to show “desire and resolve” to beat Tottenham in the north London derby on Saturday, Jamie Redknapp has warned.

The Gunners will make the short trip across the English capital to take on their bitter rivals at Wembley in the Premier League.

Arsenal have been inconsistent in recent weeks to lose ground on the Premier League’s top four in pursuit of a Champions League spot.

The north London side lost 3-1 to Premier League strugglers Swansea City at the Liberty Stadium following three disastrous mistakes.

Arsenal were 5-1 winners against Everton at The Emirates on Saturday evening as Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang and Henrikh Mkhitaryan were handed their debuts.

The Gunners have a dismal record on the road in the Premier League this season following four draws and six losses.

Spurs have collected four points from their last two top-flight outings following a 2-0 win over Manchester United and 2-2 draw with Liverpool FC.

Former Liverpool captain Redknapp warned Arsenal that they will need to produce a resilient performance at Wembley on Saturday.

“If they want to be a great team, they must find the desire and aggression that will make them hard to beat away from home,” Redknapp told the Daily Mail.

“Their resolve will be well and truly tested against Tottenham at Wembley on Saturday.”

Arsenal are in sixth place in the Premier League table but five points adrift of fourth-placed Chelsea.

The Gunners will take on defending champions Chelsea in the League Cup final at Wembley later this month.
