Arsenal have joined the race to sign Allan from Napoli in the summer transfer window, according to reports in Italy.

Italian outlet Calcio Mercato, as quoted by the Daily Mirror, is reporting that the Gunners are keen on a move to sign the 27-year-old Brazilian this summer.

The defensive midfielder has been in good form so far this season for Napoli and has scored four goals and made four assists in 27 Serie A games for the Italian side.

According to the same report, Allan is poised to be one of the top targets for a host of European clubs this summer.

And the same article claims that although Arsenal are unlikely to be at the front of the queue given their domestic struggles, that hasn’t stopped Arsene Wenger from registering his interest in the midfielder.

Arsenal are bound to be linked with a host of players in the coming weeks and months as the summer transfer window draws nearer.

It has been a season of discontent so far for the north London side, with Wenger’s men currently in sixth place in the Premier League table after a stuttering run of form.
