German newspaper Bild, as quoted by Eurosport, is reporting that the 44-year-old German is poised to take over at The Emirates at the end of the season.
According to the same report, Tuchel was being lined up by Bayern Munich, but he has apparently rejected the chance to succeed Jupp Heynckes in favour of a move abroad.
The same story quotes another German source, Kicker, as saying that Tuchel has already agreed a deal with Arsenal to take the reigns at the north London club this summer.
Wenger’s future at Arsenal has been a constant source of speculation in recent months after the Gunners’ poor form in all competitions.
The north London side are currently in sixth place in the Premier League table and looking set to miss out on Champions League qualification for the second season running.
Arsenal could still book their place in the Champions League group stage by winning the Europa League this season, but they are only in the quarter-final stage and they will take on CSKA Moscow next month.
