The Gunners have struggled in the second half of the Premier League season to heap pressure on Arsene Wenger.
Arsenal have lost four of their last six games in the English top flight to lose ground on the top four.
The Gunners ended a run of three successive defeats with a 3-0 victory over Watford before the international break.
The north London side have a great record at The Emirates this term following 11 victories and two draws in their 15 home games.
Stoke, on the other hand, have only managed to secure one win on the road in the Premier League this term.
The Potters are in 19th place in the Premier League table and three points adrift of the safety.
Former Arsenal midfielder Merson is confident that the Gunners will make light work of their clash against Stoke City.
“It’ll be comfortable,” Merson told Sky Sports.
“It’s Arsenal all over, they’re in a bit of trouble then they win three or four games on the trot and everything is rosy again in the garden.
“They had the two games against AC Milan then they won their league game and they’ve had a break now but for me, the big game is CSKA Moscow home and away.
“But Arsenal put these teams to be, they’re renowned for it so it’s a home win.”
Arsenal will take on Russian side CSKA Moscow in the Europa League quarter-final with a place in the Champions League up for grabs for the competition’s winner.
The Gunners finished in fifth place in the Premier League last term to miss out on a Champions League spot.
