Jack Wilshere is hoping that he can resolve his future with Arsenal before this summer’s World Cup.

The Gunners midfielder has managed to save his Arsenal career this season despite starting the 2017-18 campaign out of favour under Arsene Wenger.

Wilshere made two assists in 25 Premier League games during a season-long loan at Bournemouth last term before he returned to Arsenal last summer.

However, the 26-year-old was informed that he was free to leave the north London side but Wilshere decided to persevere.

Wilshere’s performances in the Carabao Cup and the Europa League soon earned Wilshere a chance to shine in Wenger’s starting XI in the Premier League.

The versatile midfielder has impressed in the English top flight to attract interest from Liverpool FC and Chelsea FC ahead of the expiration of his current contract next summer.

Wilshere has even managed to secure a return to the England national squad ahead of the 2018 World Cup.

But the Arsenal star is hoping that the Gunners can sort out a new contract before this summer’s major tournament.

“I have got three months left on my contract,” Wilshere told Sky Sports. “I don’t know how to answer that.

“Ideally, yes, I want it sorted as soon as possible. I want to go to the World Cup and enjoy it, but we have three months till then and a lot can happen.

“Ideally from my point of view and the club’s point of view, they will probably want it sorted.”

Wilshere has scored two goals and has made three assists in 31 appearances in all competitions this term.

Arsenal will take on CSKA Moscow in the Europa League quarter-finals next month.
