The Egypt international put pen to paper on a new long-term contract after the Gunners rewarded the versatile midfielder for a promising start to his Arsenal career.
Elneny moved to Arsenal in a £5m deal from Swiss outfit Basel in the 2016 January transfer window to bolster Arsene Wenger’s midfield options.
The 25-year-old won Arsenal’s player of the month award for March and April in the second half of the 2015-16 season following his impressive impact.
Elneny has scored two goals in 66 appearances over the past 24 months, although the versatile midfielder has failed to nail down a regular starting spot this term.
The Arsenal star posed for a snap alongside manager Wenger after he secured his long-term future at the north London club.
Elneny wrote on his Instagram page: “Officially we will be together for a longer time, in order to reach what we started, and to put arsenal in it’s deserved spot In Europe and the whole world.”
Arsenal finished in fifth place in the Premier League last term to miss out on a Champions League spot under Wenger.
The Gunners are currently in sixth spot in the table but could still reach Europe’s premier club competition if Arsenal win the Europa League.
The north London side will take on CSKA Moscow in the quarter-finals.
