Arsenal are preparing a £45m offer to sign Lyon playmaker Nabil Fekir in the summer, according to a report in England.

The Sun, as quoted by The Daily Mirror, is reporting that the Gunners are plotting a swoop to sign the 24-year-old at the end of the season to improve Arsene Wenger’s attacking options.

The same article states that north London side are keen to conclude a deal for Fekir before the World Cup before the playmaker looks to shine in Russia.

The France international has netted 16 times and has made six assists in 24 appearances in Ligue 1 this season.

According to the same story, La Liga giants FC Barcelona are also interested in the Lyon midfielder to provide Arsenal with competition for the goal-scoring midfielder.

Arsenal signed Fekir’s former team-mate Alexandre Lacazette in a then club record £52m deal from Ligue 1 outfit Lyon last summer.

The Gunners are in sixth place in the Premier League table and 13 points adrift of fourth-placed Tottenham Hotspur in the race to secure a Champions League spot.

The north London side lost 3-0 to the Premier League leaders Manchester City in the League Cup final at Wembley last month.

Arsenal will take on CSKA Moscow in the Europa League quarter-finals next month.
