The Daily Telegraph is reporting that Arsenal head of recruitment Sven Mislintat is focused on bolstering the two problem areas this summer as the Gunners look to strengthen their squad ahead of next season.
The Gunners are thought to be keen on adding to their options in central midfield amid the uncertainty surrounding Jack Wilshere’s future at The Emirates.
The 26-year-old is out of contract in the summer and is yet to commit himself to the north London side by signing a new deal with the Gunners.
Wales midfielder Aaron Ramsey could also be facing an uncertain future at The Emirates, with his contract set to expire at the end of next season.
The same report says that Arsenal have been weighing up a possible summer move to sign Schalke midfielder Max Meyer.
Meanwhile, Arsenal are currently preparing for their Premier League clash against Stoke City at The Emirates on Sunday afternoon.
The north London side are sixth in the Premier League table and will host CSKA Moscow in the first leg of their Europa League quarter-final clash on Thursday night.
