Paul Merson is tipping Tottenham Hotspur to ease to an unconvincing 2-1 win over Bournemouth at Vitality Stadium on Sunday.
Spurs will be attempting to avoid a Champions League hangover following a disappointing last-16 exit at the hands of Juventus.
Tottenham secured a 1-0 lead thanks to Harry Kane but went on to lose 2-1 to Serie A giants Juventus in the second leg of their Champions League last-16 clash on Wednesday night.
Spurs held a nervous 3-2 aggregate lead at Wembley following a dramatic 2-2 draw in Turin last month when Kane and Christian Eriksen netted in Italy.
However, goals from Gonzalo Higuain and Paulo Dybala at the home of English football turned the tie on its head.
Tottenham will be hoping to put more distance between themselves and fifth-placed Chelsea FC, with nine games to go in the 2017-18 season.
Former Arsenal midfielder Merson is backing to Spurs to edge to narrow win over Bournemouth in the Premier League on Sunday.
“There’s got to be a Champions League hangover for Tottenham,” Merson told Sky Sports.
“They were cruising along, 1-0 up, and then three minutes later they’re out.
“It’ll have an effect. They’ll have one eye on next week in the FA Cup, and another season without winning anything.”
Merson added: “I think Spurs will win, but if Bournemouth are on it they could get something, most definitely. They have a go, they open up and have a go. Sometimes they get punished for it, but sometimes it pays off. I like the way they play.”
Tottenham can console themselves with their participation in the FA Cup but Spurs will have to get past Swansea City in the FA Cup quarter-finals as Mauricio Pochettino looks to win his first piece of silverware at White Hart Lane.
