The defending Premier League champions are in fifth place in the table and five points behind Tottenham in the race to secure a Champions League spot next term.
The west London side have lost four of their last six games in the Premier League to lose ground on their rivals in the top-four race.
Chelsea FC were 2-1 winners against Spurs in the second Premier League fixture of the 2017-18 season at Wembley.
The Blues have an imperious record against Tottenham at Stamford Bridge, including a 2-1 win over Spurs in the title-winning campaign at Stamford Bridge last term.
Former Chelsea FC winger Nevin believes the Blues are in a good position to beat Tottenham and finish in the Premier League’s top four.
“For all the travels and all the attempts to divert my own attention this week, I keep on getting back to the fact that we need to beat Tottenham this time,” Nevin told Chelsea FC’s website.
“Our run of games that follow this weekend make me believe we can get back into the top four again and maybe also get to the FA Cup final if we secure these three points.
“Rarely have I been so happy to have a game at home, because Stamford Bridge is generally a real problem for our north London rivals.”
Chelsea FC have won the Premier League title in two of the past three seasons under Jose Mourinho and then Antonio Conte.
The defending champions signed England international Ross Barkley, AS Roma defender Emerson Palmieri and Arsenal striker Olivier Giroud in the January transfer window.
The Blues haven’t won the Champions League crown since 2012.
