Andy Robertson has warned Chelsea FC that Liverpool FC are out to cement their spot in the top four as the race for Champions League qualification hots up.

Liverpool FC are currently in third place in the Premier League table as they bid to try and secure a top four finish in the top flight for the second season running under Jurgen Klopp.

Chelsea FC, meanwhile, are facing an uphill struggle to try and break back into the Champions League qualification spots this season, with the Blues currently fifth in the table and five points behind fourth-placed Spurs.

Liverpool FC will look to take another big step towards Champions League qualification for next season by beating Crystal Palace at Selhurst Park on Saturday lunchtime.

Chelsea FC are set to take on Tottenham Hotspur in what promises to be a crunch top-four showdown at Stamford Bridge on Sunday afternoon.

And Liverpool FC left-back Robertson has insisted that the Reds are poised to capitalise on any dropped points by Spurs or Chelsea FC as the race for a top-four finish hots up.

Speaking to Liverpool FC’s website, Robertson said: “Chelsea and Tottenham have to play so one of them, if not the two, will drop points.

“If we can get our three points early doors on Saturday then it makes the rest of Saturday and Sunday a lot nicer and a lot easier, because you know you’ve put in a good performance and you’ve got the points in the bag.”

Chelsea FC won the Premier League title in style last season but they have struggled to produce consistent form in the top flight this term.
