Giroud has been settling into life at Stamford Bridge since signing for the Blues from Arsenal in the January transfer window.
The French striker has netted one goal in the Premier League for Antonio Conte’s men so far this season following his switch from the Gunners as he looks to earn some regular playing time ahead of this summer’s World Cup in Russia.
Antonio Conte has opted to deploy Eden Hazard up front alone for Chelsea FC at times this season, including in their recent defeat by Manchester City at The Etihad in the Premier League.
But Giroud clearly feels that playing Hazard up front is not the best tactical move to bring out the best from the Belgian forward.
Giroud is quoted as saying by The Daily Express: “For me, the competition is with Morata.
“We can be made to play with Eden up front but it is very rare and it really hasn’t borne fruit.”
Chelsea FC will return to Premier League action after the international break when they take on Tottenham Hotspur at Stamford Bridge.
The Blues are currently in fifth place in the Premier League table as they bid to try and break back into the top four before the season is out.
