Matt Le Tissier believes that N’Golo Kante is clearly the best holding midfielder in the world following his brilliant form for Chelsea FC.

Kante has earned a reputation as one of the Premier League’s top midfielders since he helped Leicester City to win the title in the 2015-16 campaign.

The France international then sealed a transfer to Chelsea in the summer of 2016 and he helped the Blues to win the Premier League title in Antonio Conte’s first campaign at the club last season.

Kante, 27, has earned plenty of new admirers for his consistent form in recent seasons and he is now widely regarded as one of the Premier League’s top midfielders.

And former Southampton star Le Tissier feels that Kante has established himself as the best holding midfielder in the world following his solid form in recent seasons.

Speaking to Sky Sports, Le Tissier said: “Winning two Premier League titles in a row with different teams is phenomenal and I don’t think there’s anyone better in the business in his role.

“He must be a manager’s dream with the amount of ground he covers.”

Kante will be hoping to feature for Chelsea FC when the Blues return to Premier League action on Sunday with a crunch top four clash against Tottenham Hotspur at Stamford Bridge.

Victory for Chelsea FC would blow the race for a top-four finish wide open and leave the Blues just two points behind Spurs in the race for Champions League qualification.
