Marco Asensio has stated his desire to join Chelsea FC – as long as Zinedine Zindane remains in charge of the Spanish side, according to reports in Spain.

Spanish outlet Diario Gol, as quoted by the Daily Express, is reporting that the Spaniard is not happy about his lack of first-team action under Zidane at Real Madrid this season.

The 22-year-old attacking midfielder has been limited to just 13 La Liga starts for Real Madrid this season, but he has still managed to score six goals and make four assists in the top flight this term.

He has featured 22 times in the Spanish league this term in total, but according to the same story, he is not happy about his limited first-team opportunities.

Asensio is open to a move to Chelsea FC, but he will only give the green light for a switch to west London if Zidane remains in charge at the Bernabeu beyond the summer, according to the same report.

The same article says that Asensio is keen to try and prove himself at Real Madrid but he feels that he has not yet been given sufficient chances to do so under Zidane.

Chelsea FC are bound to be on the lookout for reinforcements in the summer transfer window as the west London side look to bolster their squad ahead of next season.
