FC Barcelona have accepted that Samuel Umtiti is likely to leave the club and sign for Manchester United this summer, according to reports in Spain.

Spanish outlet Sport, as quoted by Metro, is reporting that the La Liga side have already drawn up a three-man shortlist to replace the French defender should he leave the club.

The same report says that Umtiti has been in regular contact with Manchester United about a move to Old Trafford this summer as Jose Mourinho looks to bolster his defensive options ahead of next season.

The 24-year-old has yet to agree terms on a new deal with FC Barcelona, who are now expecting to see the defender leave the club at the end of the campaign.

The story says that Umtiti has a release clause of just £52m in his contract and that it is a very “real” possibility that he could end up moving to Manchester United this summer.

FC Barcelona are said to be braced for his exit and have drawn up a three-man shortlist to potentially replace him.

The article says that the Spanish side are eyeing RB Leipzig centre-back Dayot Upamecano, Schalke defender Thilo Kehrer and Sevilla’s Clement Lenglet.

Meanwhile, Manchester United are preparing to host Swansea City at Old Trafford on Saturday in the Premier League.
