Liverpool FC are “desperate” to keep Emre Can at Anfield beyond this season – but will have to offer him £200,000 a week to do so, according to reports in the British media.

The Sun is reporting that the Merseyside outfit are extremely keen to keep the German midfielder at Anfield beyond the summer transfer window, with his current contract set to expire at the end of the season.

The same report says that Can has attracted interest from the likes of Juventus and Manchester City, who could sign him on a free transfer when his contract expires this summer.

According to the same story, Can will command “massive wages” at his next club because of him potentially being available on a free this summer.

Can has scored three goals and made four assists in 26 Premier League games for Liverpool FC so far this season and he has been a regular fixture in the first team.

Meanwhile, Liverpool FC are now preparing to return to Premier League action when they take on Crystal Palace at Selhurst Park on Saturday.

The Reds are currently in third place in the Premier League table as they seek a top-four finish for the second season running under Jurgen Klopp.
