Jurgen Klopp has confirmed that Emre Can is set to miss Liverpool FC’s clash against Crystal Palace on Saturday.

The Germany international pulled out of international duty earlier this week following a troublesome back problem in Liverpool FC’s last Premier League game.

Can was forced off the pitch during the 5-0 win due to the fitness setback to raise questions about his participation at Selhurst Park.

The 23-year-old is facing speculation surrounding his future as the Liverpool FC midfielder continues to run down his contract.

Speaking at his pre-match media conference ahead of Liverpool FC’s trip to Palace this weekend, Klopp confirmed that Can won’t feature in the English capital.

“Emre is out for the weekend,” Klopp said.

“[He is] getting better and better and better, much better. Hopefully he can have a normal session with us on Sunday morning and then should be fine again.”

Liverpool FC were 5-0 winners against Watford at Anfield in the Premier League before the international break thanks in part to Mohamed Salah’s four-goal haul.

The Reds are in third place in the Premier League table and two points adrift of Manchester United in the race to secure a top-four finish.

Liverpool FC will take on Premier League leaders Manchester City in the Champions League quarter-final at Anfield next week.

Can has scored three times and has made four assists in 26 appearances in the Premier League this term.
