Liverpool FC manager Jurgen Klopp is a better head coach than Manchester United boss Jose Mourinho, according to Shaka Hislop.

The two Premier League rivals are set to battle it out for a second-placed finish in the remaining months of the Premier League campaign.

Manchester United are in second spot and two points ahead of Liverpool FC in what promises to be a competitive race to finish in the top four.

The Reds missed out on the chance to hoist themselves above Manchester United following a 2-1 loss at Old Trafford earlier this month despite dominating possession.

Liverpool FC have scored 73 goals in 31 games in the Premier League this season, while Manchester United have only managed to find the net 57 times.

The Merseyside outfit have conceded more goals than Manchester United but Klopp’s side have produced a more exciting brand of football.

Former West Ham goalkeeper Hislop believes Klopp is a better manager than Mourinho at the moment.

“Right now, Klopp is a better manager than Mourinho,” Hislop told ESPN FC.

“Over the course of their careers, you’d have to say Mourinho. Not considering what they achieved before, I am taking Klopp.”

Liverpool FC finished in fourth place in the Premier League table to secure a return to the Champions League.

Manchester United won the Europa League and the League Cup last term but the Red Devils are finished in sixth place.
