Mark Lawrenson believes Premier League opponents are underestimating the strength of Liverpool FC forward Mohamed Salah.

The African forward moved to Liverpool FC in a £39m deal from Serie A giants AS Roma in the 2017 summer transfer window.

Salah endured a difficult spell at Chelsea FC before he moved to Serie A on loan at Serie A duo Fiorentina and AS Roma.

The Liverpool FC forward hit the ground running with a goal on his debut in a 3-3 draw with Watford on the opening day of the season.

Salah has scored 28 goals in 30 games in the Premier League following his four-goal haul in a 5-0 win over Watford at Anfield.

The African star is one of the leading contenders to win the PFA Premier League player of the year award.

Former Liverpool FC defender Lawrenson highlighted Salah’s incredible body strength is underestimated by opponents.

“I tell you something about him,” Lawrenson told BBC Radio 5 Live.

“People don’t realise how strong he is. For a small guy, his upper body and his balance is sensational.”

Liverpool FC finished in fourth place in the Premier League table after the Reds finished a point ahead of Arsenal to secure a return to the Champions League.

The Merseyside outfit are on course to secure a top-four spot in successive seasons.
