Stan Collymore has praised Mohamed Salah for an incredible first season at Liverpool FC.

The Reds signed the Egypt international in a £39m deal from Serie A giants AS Roma in the summer transfer window to bolster Jurgen Klopp’s attacking options.

The Merseyside outfit’s big-money deal for Salah was initially met with some skepticism given the African forward’s difficult eight-month spell at Chelsea FC in 2014.

However, the African footballer of the year Salah hit the ground running at the Reds to quickly win over the Liverpool FC supporters following his summer move.

The former Fiorentina winger scored his 23rd Premier League goal of the 2017-18 season to move to within one goal of the division’s leading goal-scorer Harry Kane.

Salah has scored 31 times in all competitions to finish as one of Europe’s most prolific goal-scorers to help Liverpool FC challenge for the Champions League and the Premier League.

Former Liverpool FC striker Collymore heaped praise on Salah for his incredible impact at the 18-time English champions.

“It’s a difficult thing for a player to come into such a big club with huge expectations like Liverpool,” Collymore told BetStars.

“Salah has come in and just continued his form from Roma. He has lots of pace but also the ability to finish, and don’t forget he scored the winning penalty to help Egypt to the World Cup finals, so it’s been a quite incredible year for him.

“It would be rounded off superbly if he managed to get Liverpool into the top four, helped them win a trophy and managed to make sure Egypt have a good showing at the World Cup. Without a doubt his [Salah] first season has been an incredible achievement.”

Liverpool FC finished in fourth place in the Premier League table to secure a return to the Champions League in Klopp’s first full season in charge at the Anfield outfit.
