Paul Merson: Why Liverpool FC star will definitely score against Man United
Paul Merson is tipping Mo Salah to score for Liverpool FC against Manchester United on Saturday
Paul Merson is fully expecting to see Mohamed Salah score for Liverpool FC in a 1-1 draw with Manchester United at Old Trafford on Saturday.
The Egypt international has been one of the Premier League’s top performing players this season since his move to Anfield from AS Roma in the summer transfer window.
The 25-year-old has netted a staggering 24 goals and made eight assists in the Premier League for Jurgen Klopp’s men so far this season to help them up into third place in the table.
Salah will be expecting to start against Manchester United as Liverpool FC look for a victory to lift them above the Red Devils and into second spot in the table.
And Arsenal legend Merson seems to think that Salah is almost guaranteed to score against Manchester United because of the amazing form he is in at the moment.
Speaking to Sky Sports, Merson said: “It feels like he’s nailed on to score every time he walks onto a football pitch right now.
“United’s defence has looked more vulnerable of late and if they do open up then Salah will be relishing any space he can operate in.
“He gets chances every single game and if he is clinical and puts them away then Liverpool win this game, which is why the first goal is so important.
“If United get the first goal then they won’t come out and give him that space.”
Salah has also netted six goals and made one assist in the Champions League so far this season to help the Reds through to the quarter-finals of Europe’s elite club competition.
Liverpool FC booked their place in the last eight thanks to their 5-0 aggregate victory over FC Porto in the last 16.
