Jorginho’s agent has admitted that only a Premier League club will be able to afford to sign the Napoli midfielder.

The Brazilian-born Italy international has been one of the Serie A’s most impressive players in the 2017-18 season.

The 26-year-old has scored two goals and has made four assists in 26 appearances in the Italian top flight this term.

Jorginho’s form has attracted interest from Liverpool FC, who are preparing for Emre Can’s potential departure at the end of the season.

The holding midfielder has also been listed as a target for Manchester United as Jose Mourinho plans for life after Michael Carrick.

Belgian star Marouane Fellaini is set to become a free agent in the summer transfer window, while Paul Pogba has struggled in the middle of the park.

Jorginho’s agent Joao Santos opened up about the possibility of the holding midfielder moving to the Premier League in the summer.

“Future in England?” Santos told Radio CRC, as quoted by the Sun. “He has a certain value for Napoli, a certain figure that almost only Premier League clubs can afford.”

He added: “Moreover, he can’t be sold to another club in Italy.

“He’s being followed by big teams and that’s normal because he plays at the highest levels for Napoli, plus we’re talking about an international player now.”

Liverpool FC are in third place in the Premier League table and two points adrift of Manchester United.

The Red Devils are in the FA Cup semi-finals but Jose Mourinho’s side have to get past Tottenham Hotspur at Wembley.

Liverpool FC will take on Premier League leaders Manchester City in the Champions League quarter-finals next month.
