Gary Lineker took to social media to lavish praise on Mohamed Salah after the Egypt international once again netted for Liverpool FC in the 2-0 win over Newcastle United at Anfield on Saturday evening.

The 25-year-old has made a brilliant start to life at Anfield since his move from AS Roma in the summer transfer window.

The Egypt international scored the opener for the Reds in the 40th minute after being fed by the impressive Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain.

And Sadio Mane made it 2-0 in the 55th minute when he coolly finished from close range.

Salah has now scored 24 goals in the Premier League so far this season and he has been one of the standout performers in the top flight.

And England legend Lineker was clearly impressed by Salah’s display against the Magpies at Anfield on Saturday evening.

Lineker posted the following update on Twitter: “Salah strikes again. His 24th @premierleague goal. What a signing he’s been.”

Next up for Liverpool FC is the return leg of their Champions League last 16 clash against FC Porto on Tuesday night.

The Reds have all but booked their place in the quarter-finals after having won the first leg 5-0 in Portugal last month.

Liverpool FC’s win moved them up into second place in the Premier League table and above Manchester United.

Their next Premier League game is a trip to Old Trafford next weekend to take on the Red Devils.
