Emre Can has reacted angrily to the speculation about his future as he approaches the end of his Liverpool FC contract.

The Germany midfielder’s situation has been a constant source of speculation in recent months because his current deal is set to expire in the summer and there has been no suggestion that he will sign a new contract with the Reds.

The uncertainty about his future has inevitably led to speculation linking Can with a move away from Liverpool FC at the end of the season, because he would be available on a free transfer.

However, it would seem that the 24-year-old is not happy about the recent stories about his situation and he took to his personal Instagram story to issue a statement.

Can wrote: “I’ve just returned from international duty with the German team and working on coming back from injury.

“Interesting stories about me in the press!

“I’m no longer going to comment on any false stories or rumours!

“Looking forward to getting back on the pitch asap. EC”

Liverpool FC will return to Premier League action on Saturday lunchtime when they take on Crystal Palace at Selhurst Park.

The Merseyside outfit are currently in third place in the table as they look to try and secure qualification for next season’s Champions League.

The Reds will take on Manchester City in the Champions League quarter-finals next month as they look to reach the last four of Europe’s elite club competition.
