Ian Wright has revealed that he wished Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain ‘good luck’ after his move to Liverpool FC from Arsenal.

The England international completed a move to the Reds from Arsenal in the summer transfer window.

Oxlade-Chamberlain opted to move to Liverpool FC ahead of interest from defending Premier League champions Chelsea FC.

The 24-year-old was often criticised for his subdued performances in the Arsenal team after failing to realise his talent at The Emirates.

Wright was quick to defend Oxlade-Chamberlain and urged Arsene Wenger to give the versatile midfielder a regular run in the team.

The English midfielder has improved under current Liverpool FC boss Jurgen Klopp in the 2017-18 Premier League season.

Former Arsenal striker Wright revealed what he said to Oxlade-Chamberlain following his move to Liverpool FC from Arsenal.

Asked whether Oxlade-Chamberlain has improved at Anfield, Wright told BBC Radio 5 live:

“Absolutely [Ox has improved at Liverpool]. When he left I said good luck to him.”

Oxlade-Chamberlain has scored three goals and has made four assists in 15 appearances in the Premier League this term.

Liverpool FC have one foot in the Champions League quarter-finals following a 5-0 win at FC Porto in the first leg of their last-16 clash.
