Virgil van Dijk looks sharp in training alongside his Liverpool FC team-mates ahead of Saturday's game

Virgil van Dijk looked to be in good shape as he trained at Melwood with his Liverpool FC team-mates ahead of Saturday’s Premier League showdown with Newcastle United.

The Reds head into the game on the back of their 4-1 win over West Ham United in the top flight on Saturday last weekend as Jurgen Klopp’s men maintained their solid form in the top flight.

Liverpool FC are now enjoying a rare week off as they prepare to get their top-four bid back on track by beating Newcastle United at Anfield on Saturday evening.

Van Dijk has been settling in well to life at Anfield following his big-money transfer from Southampton in the January transfer window.

The 26-year-old defender has been a regular fixture in the first team and has made seven starts in all competitions for Klopp’s side so far this term.

Van Dijk was joined in training by the likes of Roberto Firmino and Mohamed Salah at a bright and sunny Melwood this week as the Reds continued their preparations for their next Premier League game.

Liverpool FC are currently in third place in the Premier League table as they chase Champions League qualification.

Here are some of the best pictures from Liverpool FC’s latest training session at Melwood.
