Thomas Lemar has admitted that he was disappointed not to have secured a move to the Premier League amid reported interest from Arsenal and Liverpool FC in recent months.

Lemar was heavily linked with both Arsenal and Liverpool FC last summer but a switch failed to materialise for the France attacker.

There was once again speculation linking Lemar with a move to the Premier League back in the January transfer window but once again, the 22-year-old ended up staying at Monaco.

His form has taken something of a dip this season and he has only managed to score two goals and make seven assists in 22 Ligue 1 appearances for the Ligue 1 outfit.

Liverpool FC were linked with a move for Lemar in January after they opted to sell Philippe Coutinho to FC Barcelona.

And the player himself has now broken his silence on talk of a transfer to the Premier League by admitting that he is still working hard to try and gain a move to England.

Lemar is quoted as saying by the Daily Star: “I’m not going to hide it, I was a little disappointed [a move didn’t happen]. I try not to think about it.

“I’ve kept working so that these clubs come back during the next transfer window.”

Meanwhile, Liverpool FC will return to Premier League action on Saturday when they travel to Crystal Palace in the top flight.

Arsenal will return to top flight action with a home clash against Stoke City at The Emirates on Sunday.
