Ray Parlour believes Liverpool FC could swoop to sign Stoke City goalkeeper Jack Butland this summer.

The Reds appear to be in the market to sign a new shot stopper to finally resolve a long-term problem at the Anfield side.

Jurgen Klopp has already tackled his problems at the back with the £75m addition of Virgil van Dijk from Southampton last month.

Loris Karius is Liverpool FC’s current first-choice goalkeeper after Simon Mignolet was demoted to the bench under Klopp.

However, the German shot stopper is still facing his critics despite some promising performances in recent weeks.

Former Arsenal midfielder Parlour believes Liverpool FC could look to England international Butland at the end of the season.

“They might take a gamble with Butland,” Parlour told Sky Sports. “They could take a gamble with him.”

Liverpool FC have one foot in the Champions League quarter-finals following a 5-0 win at FC Porto in the first leg of their last-16 clash.

The Reds are looking to win Europe’s premier club competition for the first time since 2005.

The Merseyside outfit are looking to secure successive top-four finishes in the Premier League to ensure their continued participation in the Champions League.
