The Daily Star is reporting that the Merseyside outfit are determined to push through a deal to try and sign the Brazil-born Italy star this summer.
However, the same story says that it could prove difficult for Liverpool FC to convince Napoli to sell Jorginho this summer because the Italian club are determined to keep hold of the 26-year-old.
Indeed, the report says that Napoli have opened talks with Jorginho about a new contract, and they want to insert a buy-out clause of £80m in his new deal.
The story says that Liverpool FC have picked out Jorginho as one of their main targets for the summer transfer window as they look to replace out-of-contract Emre Can at the end of the season.
The article claims, though, that the Reds could be set to face competition from the likes of Manchester United and Manchester City for his signature, after the player’s representatives flew out to England to hold discussions with a number of clubs recently.
Jorginho has scored two goals and made four assists in 26 Serie A games for the Italian club so far this season.
