Liverpool FC are interested in a surprise move to sign Mohamed Salah’s compatriot Ramadan Sobhi from Stoke City, according to a report in England.

TEAMtalk, as quoted by The Sun, is reporting that the Reds are keeping tabs on the 21-year-old as Stoke struggle to break clear of the relegation zone.

The same article states that Jurgen Klopp was interested in the Potters star before his move to the Britannia Stadium in 2016.

Sobhi has netted three goals in 41 games in all competitions over the past two seasons but Paul Lambert’s appointment as Mark Hughes’ successor earlier this term has cast some doubt on his future.

According to the same report, Stoke would demand a transfer fee in the region of £15m for the Egypt international despite signing Sobhi in a £5m deal from Al Ahly in 2016.

There is also a suggestion that the signing of the 21-year-old could be a tactic to keep Salah happy at the Anfield outfit amid talk of Real Madrid interest ahead of the summer.

Liverpool FC summer signing Salah has netted an incredible 28 goals in 30 games in the Premier League this season to sit at the top of the division’s goal-scoring charts.
