Antonio Conte has warned Chelsea FC will face a “quality” Manchester City side at The Etihad on Sunday.

The defending Premier League champions will make the daunting trip to the runaway leaders this weekend looking to breathe life into their top-four challenge.

The Blues suffered a 2-1 loss to Manchester United last weekend despite Willian making the breakthrough in the first half at Old Trafford.

Manchester City won the League Cup last weekend thanks to a 3-0 victory over Arsenal thanks to goals from Sergio Aguero, Vincent Kompany and David Silva.

The Citizens followed up their first piece of silverware under manager Pep Guardiola with a 3-0 win against Arsenal at The Emirates in the Premier League on Thursday night.

Manchester City are a staggering 22 points ahead of defending champions Chelsea FC ahead of their Premier League meeting.

Speaking at his pre-match media conference at Cobham training ground on Friday, Conte warned his Chelsea FC players about the threat Manchester City pose.

Conte said: “I think last season Manchester City were always a fantastic team. But after one season, then the manager tried to improve the quality of the starting XI, to improve the quality in his squad.

“This is the result.”

Chelsea FC lost 1-0 to Manchester City at Stamford Bridge back in September following Kevin De Bruyne’s winner against his former employers in west London.

The Blues won the Premier League title with two games to spare last term, while the Citizens finished in third place.
