Victor Moses has told Manchester City that Chelsea FC are ready to prove their critics wrong by beating the Citizens in Sunday’s Premier League showdown.

The west London side head into the game looking to return to winning ways in the Premier League after the disappointment of their 2-1 loss to Manchester United at Old Trafford last weekend.

The Blues had taken the lead in the first half at Old Trafford before goals from Romelu Lukaku and Jesse Lingard notched up the victory for Jose Mourinho’s men.

Chelsea FC have had a full week off to digest the disappointment of that result and the fact that it caused them to drop down into fifth place in the Premier League table.

The west Londoners are now preparing for their crunch clash against Pep Guardiola’s leaders, who head into the game fresh from their 3-0 win at Arsenal on Thursday night.

And Moses has talked up the importance of Chelsea FC putting in a performance to prove their detractors wrong against the Premier League leaders.

Speaking to Chelsea FC’s website, Moses said: “It’s going to be an interesting game. I’m expecting it to be tight.

“City are flying at the moment, but we have players who can win us games too. You never know what is going to happen.

“We need to stay hungry. We get a lot of chances in games so we have got to try and convert them.

“At the moment we are just concentrating on ourselves. We have worked hard in training and we want to do the best we can and go out there and prove people wrong.”

Chelsea FC won the Premier League title in style last season but they did not have the distraction of any European football.
