Juan Mata has challenged Manchester United to win 10 cup finals in the remaining months of the 2017-18 season.

The Red Devils are in second place in the Premier League table and two points ahead of Liverpool FC in the race to secure a top four spot.

Manchester United are 16 points adrift of runaway Premier League leaders Manchester City and too far behind the Citizens to challenge for the title.

The Red Devils can still secure some silverware this season if Manchester United can beat Tottenham Hotspur and reach the FA Cup final.

Spurs were 2-0 winners against Manchester United at Wembley in the Premier League earlier in the 2017-18 season.

The Manchester United star is looking to win the competition for the second time at Old Trafford after the Spain international netted in a 2-1 extra-time win over Crystal Palace in 2015.

And Mata is hoping that Manchester United still have 10 games left to play in the 2017-18 season.

“Having a look at the calendar I see that there are only nine games remaining, hopefully ten, because that will mean that we made it to the FA Cup final which will take place at Wembley on the 19th of May,” Mata wrote on his personal blog.

“So that’s our goal: playing ten games from here to the end of the season.”

Manchester United haven’t won the Premier League title since 2013 when Sir Alex Ferguson led the Red Devils to their 13th top-flight crown of his reign.

The 20-time English champions signed Chile international Alexis Sanchez in a swap deal from Arsenal in the January transfer window.
