Dietmar Hamann is tipping Manchester United and Liverpool FC to play out another goalless draw at Old Trafford in the Premier League on Saturday afternoon.

The Reds will make the short trip to the Theatre of Dreams in search of a fourth successive Premier League win following an encouraging run of form.

Liverpool FC managed to hoist themselves into second place in the Premier League table for 24 hours after a 2-0 win over Newcastle United last weekend.

However, Nemanja Matic’s last-gasp winner at Selhurst Park secured a 3-2 win against Crystal Palace to move Manchester United back above Liverpool FC.

The Red Devils have secured goalless stalemates with Liverpool FC at Anfield in the last two seasons after Jose Mourinho adopted conservative tactics.

Manchester United battled to a 1-1 draw with Liverpool FC at Old Trafford last season after Mourinho successfully managed to blunt Jurgen Klopp’s attack again.

Former Liverpool FC midfielder Hamann is tipping Manchester United to settle for a 0-0 draw with Klopp’s men at Old Trafford in Saturday’s early kick-off.

“I think it’ll be a low scoring affair again, because in these big games Mourinho doesn’t want to commit players forward,” Hamann told Tag Heuer.

“Liverpool has to be patient, I think we saw a 0-0 earlier in the season at Anfield, I would probably go for the same score again.”

Liverpool FC finished in fourth place in the Premier League table last term to secure a return to the Champions League.

Manchester United got their hands on Europa League and the League Cup last term.
