Ander Herrera is backing Manchester United to finish in second place in the Premier League table this season.

The Red Devils are currently in second spot behind champions elect Manchester City as they look to try and finish as highly in the table as possible.

A second placed finish for Jose Mourinho’s men would represent a significant improvement for the Red Devils, who ended up in sixth place in the Premier League table last season.

Herrera has been out of action with an injury for the last month but is now closing in on a comeback for Manchester United as he bids to try and help them enjoy a positive end to the season.

Manchester United were dumped out of the Champions League by Sevilla earlier this month in a shock result following a 2-1 loss at Old Trafford.

However, Mourinho’s men are still going for glory in the FA Cup as they bid to try and finish the campaign with a trophy – they will take on Tottenham Hotspur in the semi-finals.

And Herrera seems to be confident that Manchester United will indeed be able to finish in second place in the Premier League table this season.

Speaking to United Review, Herrera said: “Now is the time to finish the season as well as I can and help the team and we want to try to win the FA Cup and keep the second place in the league.”

Manchester United take on Swansea City after the international break.
