The 22-year-old left-back has been in and out of the first team at Old Trafford this season and he has seemingly failed to win the trust of his manager at the club.
Shaw has been limited to just six Premier League starts this season and he is yet to hold down a regular spot in the first team under Mourinho.
To make matters worse, Shaw was substituted at half-time during Manchester United’s FA Cup defeat of Brighton and Hove Albion on Saturday.
It seems that the England international, who has only started six Premier League games so far this season, is struggling to win the trust of Mourinho at Old Trafford and it remains to be seen whether he will be able to do so in the coming weeks and months.
However, Arsenal legend Wright has admitted that he has not been particularly impressed by the way Shaw’s situation has been handled by Mourinho.
Speaking in an interview with BBC Radio 5 live, Wright said: “He has had a broken leg and seems a bit heavy but that does not stop him blasting up and down the wing.
“I don’t know his private life, but it does not make sense a manager keeps going back and digging him out.
“Mourinho should be doing more with a 22-year-old who should be going to the World Cup with England from what I have seen.”
Manchester United will return to Premier League action after the international break when they host Swansea City at Old Trafford on 31 March.
