The Portuguese coach has found himself in the firing line in recent weeks after his side were dumped out of the Champions League at the last 16 stage by Sevilla in a shock result earlier this month.
That loss has left Manchester United playing for the FA Cup and a top-four finish in the Premier League in Mourinho’s second season in charge at Old Trafford.
Manchester United are currently in second place in the Premier League table and facing the prospect of an FA Cup semi-final clash against Tottenham Hotspur at Wembley next month.
Mourinho will be looking to end the season on a high as he bids to get Manchester United challenging for the Premier League title next season.
However, former Manchester United defender Neville has explained the only way that Mourinho will be able to silence his critics from this season.
Speaking to Sky Sports, Neville said: “The reality of it is the only thing that will shut people up when you’re at Manchester United is winning matches and trophies – everything else is irrelevant.
“It is OK pointing towards pundits, fans or referees, but the only people who can make that pressure go away are those at the club getting results.”
Manchester United will return to Premier League action after the international break when they take on Swansea City at Old Trafford on 31 March.
The Red Devils finished in sixth place in the top flight last season.
