The Chile international has been settling into life at Old Trafford after moving up north as part of the same deal which saw Henrikh Mkhitaryan head to Arsenal.
However, most Manchester United fans would agree that Sanchez is yet to really hit top form for the Red Devils and his performances so far have been disappointing.
Both he and Paul Pogba started the Red Devils’ 2-0 win over Brighton and Hove Albion in the FA Cup on Saturday on the bench.
And former Manchester United midfielder Scholes said Sanchez or Pogba could have no complaints about being dropped following their poor displays of late.
Speaking to BT Sport on Saturday, Scholes said: “If those two [Sanchez and Pogba] are playing well they walk into this team, there’s no doubt about that.
“But you have to say that in recent weeks their form hasn’t been good enough to get into the team. Scott McTominay has come in and done well.”
Sanchez will be hoping to feature for Manchester United when the Red Devils return to Premier League action after the international break with a home clash against Swansea City at Old Trafford on 31 March.
The Red Devils are currently in second place in the Premier League table as they look to try and finish in the top four in Jose Mourinho’s second campaign in charge.
