Jose Mourinho has admitted that he is unsure about Paul Pogba’s fitness levels after he sat out Manchester United’s 2-1 win over Liverpool FC on Saturday due to injury.

The French midfielder missed the Premier League clash against their bitter local rivals due to an injury sustained late in the final training session before the game.

Manchester United are now preparing for their crunch Champions League clash against Sevilla at Old Trafford on Tuesday night as they bid to book their place in the quarter-finals.

The two sides played out a goalless draw in the first leg of the clash in Spain last month as Mourinho looks to try and steer his side into the last eight.

And the Red Devils boss has conceded that he is unsure whether Pogba will be fit for the game or not.

Speaking at a news conference after Manchester United’s win over Liverpool FC, Mourinho said: “I don’t know [if Pogba will be fit for Tuesday].

“He’s downstairs now and I will go and speak with him. The injury? It was contact with a player in the last minute of the training session [on Friday].

“If I finished the session one minute before it wouldn’t have happened.”

Manchester United are now in second place in the Premier League table as they look to try and finish as runners-up to Manchester City this season.

The Red Devils have not won the Premier League title since their famous final triumph under Sir Alex Ferguson in the 2012-13 campaign.
