Sanchez has been getting used to life at Old Trafford after having signed for the Red Devils as part of the same deal which saw Henrikh Mkhitaryan head in the other direction in January.
However, most Manchester United fans would agree that Sanchez is yet to perform to his true capabilities in a Red Devils shirt since his move.
Indeed, the Chile international was dropped to the bench for Manchester United’s FA Cup quarter-final win over Brighton and Hove Albion at Old Trafford on Sunday.
And former England international Shearer has admitted that he has been very surprised by the way Sanchez has been struggling since his move to the club.
Shearer is quoted as saying by the Daily Star: “They (United) signed Alexis Sanchez and it looks like they have got his twin brother.
“He looks like the little boy the lost. It is the coach’s job to get the best out of the players.
“When you look at the players they had on the pitch against Sevilla, the likes of Lukaku, Sanchez and Rashford, they had enough quality on the pitch and they should have been able to get the win in front of their home supporters.”
Sanchez will be hoping to feature for Manchester United when the Red Devils return to Premier League action after the international break with a home clash against Swansea City at Old Trafford.
The Red Devils are currently in second place in the Premier League table as they bid to try and at least finish in the top four this term.
