Spanish outlet Marca, as quoted by Metro, is reporting that the French defender looks likely to pen a new contract with the Catalan giants rather than seek a move away from Camp Nou.
The same report says that he is likely to stay in Spain despite Manchester United manager Jose Mourinho having made a series of phone calls to try and convince him to move to Old Trafford.
The story suggests that the 24-year-old central defender has now decided to stay at FC Barcelona and is in line to sign a new contract with the La Liga side.
Any new deal is likely to include an increase to his release clause, which is reportedly currently set at just £52m.
Manchester United are thought to be on the lookout for a number of new signings this summer as Mourinho looks to build a squad capable of challenging Manchester City’s dominance in the Premier League next season.
Meanwhile, the Red Devils are preparing to host Stoke City at Old Trafford in their next Premier League game on Saturday afternoon.
