Jesse Lingard is confident Manchester United can produce a good performance and secure three points against Swansea City at Old Trafford on Saturday afternoon.

The Red Devils have won their last three Premier League games to cement second spot in the table with eight games remaining in their top-flight campaign.

Manchester United have managed to beat Chelsea FC and Liverpool FC to deliver a blow to their top-four rivals in pursuit of a Champions League spot.

Indeed, the 20-time English champions are on course to secure their best finish since Sir Alex Ferguson stood down after winning his 13th Premier League title last term.

Lingard has been one of Manchester United’s outstanding performances this season with a return of eight goals and four assists in 26 appearances in the Premier League.

The England star is confident that the Red Devils can secure three points against the Welsh outfit in the Premier League on Saturday afternoon.

“It’s vital. Obviously we’ve had ups and downs this season but when you win games it gives everyone that lift and if we can do that at the weekend it will stand us in good stead for the next one,” Lingard told Man United’s website.

“I feel in good form at the moment and I know I’ve got to take that onto the pitch again, week in, week out. I want to show the fans and the manager what I can do.”

Manchester United signed Chile international Alexis Sanchez in a swap deal from Arsenal in the January transfer window.

The Red Devils won the Europa League and the FA Cup in the 2016-17 season in Mourinho’s first campaign at Old Trafford.

Manchester United haven’t won the title since 2013.
