Chris Sutton believes Tottenham Hotspur will be confident of beating Manchester United in the FA Cup semi-finals at Wembley next month.

The Red Devils were 2-0 winners against Brighton and Hove Albion to book their place in the FA Cup semi-final.

Tottenham Hotspur, meanwhile, eased to a 3-0 win over Swansea City in the FA Cup last eight at the Liberty Stadium.

Spurs were 2-0 winners against Manchester United in the Premier League at Wembley earlier in 2018.

Tottenham have won their last two Premier League games at home to Manchester United which should give Mauricio Pochettino’s men confidence ahead of the semi-final clash.

Manchester United lost 2-1 to Spanish side Sevilla in the Champions League round of 16 earlier this month to leave the FA Cup as their only chance of silverware this term.

Former Chelsea FC striker Sutton believes Spurs will be confident of beating Jose Mourinho’s side at Wembley for the second time this term.

“It was a massive win for Conte,” Sutton told BBC Radio 5 Live.

“It’s the only trophy they can win. They’re not going to get in the top four. They’ve got too much work to do.”

Manchester United won the EFL Cup and the Europa League last season following Mourinho’s appointment as manager in May 2016.

The Red Devils haven’t won the Premier League title since 2013 when Sir Alex Ferguson won his 13th and final top-flight crown.

Manchester United signed Alexis Sanchez from Arsenal in the January transfer window.
