The Manchester Evening News is reporting that both Manchester clubs have expressed an interest in the versatile 26-year-old midfielder ahead of the summer transfer window.
Seri was close to a move to FC Barcelona in 2017 but his proposed transfer fell through to force the Ivory Coast international to spend another season at Nice.
The same article states that Manchester City and Manchester United have both watched Seri “extensively” as Pep Guardiola and Jose Mourinho both look to strengthen their midfield options.
Mourinho is planning for Michael Carrick’s retirement at the end of the season with the former England midfielder set to join his coaching staff at Old Trafford.
Manchester City boss Guardiola, on the other hand, views Seri as a potential long-term replacement for Brazil international Fernandinho.
According to the same story, the Premier League duo could face competition from La Liga giants FC Barcelona for the Nice star.
Seri has scored one goal and has made four assists in 23 appearances in the French top flight this season.
The Ivorian has netted 11 goals in 112 games in all competitions over the past three seasons.
