According to the same story, Lingard’s form for Manchester United has delighted Red Devils boss Jose Mourinho and the club are keen to reward him with improved terms.

The article says that the new contract could see Lingard’s weekly salary increase from £75,000 to £100,000 a week.

Lingard has scored 13 goals in all competitions for Manchester United so far this season and has shown signs of impressive improvement under Mourinho.

The England international signed a four-year contract at Manchester United last April with the option of a further 12 months at Old Trafford.

Meanwhile, Manchester United are now preparing for their crunch Champions League clash against Sevilla in the Champions League on Tuesday night.

The two sides played out a goalless draw in the first leg of the last 16 clash at Old Trafford last month as Mourinho looks to try and steer his side into the quarter-finals of Europe’s elite club competition.
