Manchester United have met with Jorginho’s agent as the Red Devils look to beat Arsenal and Liverpool FC to the Napoli midfielder’s signature, according to a report in Italy.

Italian media outlet Rai Sport, as quoted by The Sun, is reporting that Manchester United sent representatives to meet with Jorginho’s agent Joao Santos last week.

The Napoli star, who has also been linked with a move to Arsenal and Liverpool FC, was in Manchester for Italy’s 2-0 loss to Argentina in an international friendly.

According to the same story, the Serie A club are looking to secure a transfer fee in the region of £50m for the impressive 26-year-old midfielder.

Manchester United face a lot of competition to sign the Brazilian born Serie A star, particularly from their Premier League rivals Arsenal and Liverpool FC.

The Red Devils are set to lose Michael Carrick to retirement at the end of the 2017-18 season, while Manchester Untied midfielder Marouane Fellaini is set to become a free agent in the summer.

Jorginho has scored two goals and has made four assists in 26 appearances in Serie A this term to help Napoli challenge for the Italian top-flight title.

Manchester United are in second place in the Premier League table.
