Jose Mourinho is “desperate” to try and bring Cristiano Ronaldo back to Manchester United from Real Madrid in the summer transfer window, according to reports in Spain.

Spanish outlet Diario Gol, as quoted by the Daily Star, is reporting that the Portuguese coach is keen to try and bring the former Manchester United attacker back to Old Trafford this summer.

Ronaldo has developed into one of the best players in world football after having signed for Real Madrid from Manchester United in the summer of 2009.

He has regularly been linked with a possible move back to Old Trafford, but a deal could well be on the cards this summer if the report in the Spanish media is to be believed.

According to the same story, Ronaldo would be happy to return to Manchester United and link up with his former Real Madrid manager Mourinho at Old Trafford.

The 33-year-old forward has been in top form for Real Madrid once again this season, scoring 22 goals in La Liga and netting 12 times in the Champions League for Los Blancos.

Meanwhile, Manchester United will return to Premier League action after the international break with a home clash against Swansea City at Old Trafford on Saturday afternoon.
