The Red Devils have been linked with a potential swoop to sign the Lazio midfielder Milinkovic-Savic at the end of the 2017-18 season.
The Serbia international has been touted with a speculated £80m switch to the 20-time English champions in the summer transfer window.
Milinkovic-Savic has scored nine goals and has made two assists in 24 appearances in Serie A in the current campaign.
The 23-year-old has been linked with Manchester United’s Premier League rivals Liverpool FC over the past 12 months, too.
Manchester United record signing Pogba has struggled to impress in recent months since his return from a hamstring injury.
Indeed, the France international has even been dropped to the bench by Jose Mourinho following a string of ineffective performances.
The Lazio star’s agent Mateja Kezman made the outlandish claim that the Serbian playmaker is better than former Juventus midfielder Pogba.
“When Sergej came to Italy, he was compared with Pogba, because at that moment it was probably the easiest comparison to make in terms of characteristics,” Kezman told Mozzart Sport.
“I do really respect Pogba, let’s be clear, and other players who can run and work for the team, but I think now Sergej has different and better qualities than Pogba.
“Over the last six months, he has made enormous progress at Lazio. If he retains his health, he can become the most complete player on the planet.
“He has remarkable attributes and you’ll not find another player in the world with that power, muscular strength and height combined with technique and tactical awareness.
“He has the touch of a Brazilian and some of the things he does reminds me of Zinedine Zidane. He can score goals in a variety of ways and has a good head on his shoulders. ‘I’ve played with Arjen Robben,
“Frank Lampard and some of the best in Europe and I think Sergej can surpass them if he keeps this up. He could soon be a candidate for the Ballon d’Or.”
Manchester United signed Chile international Alexis Sanchez in a swap deal from Arsenal in the January transfer window.
The Red Devils will take on relegation candidates Crystal Palace at Selhurst Park on Monday night in search of successive Premier League victories.
