Chris Sutton believes Tottenham Hotspur are favourites to beat Manchester United in the FA Cup semi-final at Wembley next month.

Spurs are looking to win their first piece of silverware to cap their undoubted progress under Argentinian coach Mauricio Pochettino.

Tottenham were 3-0 winners against Swansea City in their FA Cup quarter-final to reach the last four in successive seasons.

The Lilywhites are in fourth place in the Premier League table but have played one game less than Liverpool FC.

Tottenham eased to a 2-0 victory over Manchester United at Wembley back in January following goals from Christian Eriksen and Harry Kane.

Manchester United crashed out of the Champions League following a surprise 2-1 loss to Spanish side Sevilla in the round of 16.

Former Chelsea FC striker Sutton believes Tottenham will be confident of eliminating Manchester United in the FA Cup semi-finals at Wembley.

“What will be an advantage is the way Spurs demolished Manchester United last time out at Wembley,” Sutton told BBC Radio 5 Live.

“They pummelled them. Spurs wouldn’t fancy Chelsea. They’d love that draw.”

Manchester United won the FA Cup in 2016 after the Red Devils were 2-1 winners against Crystal Palace in the final at Wembley.

The Reds signed Chile international Alexis Sanchez in a swap deal from Arsenal in the January transfer window.
