The Gunners will welcome the Russian side to the Emirates Stadium in the first leg of their last 16 clash on Thursday night.
Arsenal defied their critics with a comfortable 5-1 win against AC Milan in the previous round to avoid a potential upset.
The Europa League represents Arsenal’s best chance of securing a place in next season’s Champions League given their current standing in the table.
The north London side are in sixth place in the Premier League table and 13 points adrift of fourth-placed Tottenham Hotspur with seven games to go.
However, Chelsea FC legend Lampard doesn’t anticipate Arsenal slipping up against the Russian side at The Emirates on Thursday night.
“Arsenal should prove too strong for CSKA but it’s important they get a good lead at home on Thursday before the tough trip to Moscow next week,” Lampard told Evening Standard.
CSKA Moscow have a good record against Arsenal in the Champions League after the two teams were paired in the 2006/07 group stage.
The Russian side eased to a 1-0 win in Moscow thanks to Daniel Carvalho’s free-kick before a goalless draw at the newly unveiled Emirates Stadium in the return fixture.
Arsenal have only managed to win two of their eight meetings with Russian teams in Uefa competitions.
